Bishop-Elect Jeremy D. Walker, Sr., a native of Culpeper, Virginia, is a man marked by purpose, called by God, and committed to advancing the Kingdom. Born to Deacon Clarence and Minister Beverly Walker, he was grounded in faith from an early age and accepted Christ as a young boy, laying the foundation for a life devoted to service and spiritual leadership.
In 2008, he answered the divine call to ministry, and in 2009, he was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since that time, Bishop-Elect Walker has served with unwavering faithfulness and excellence in various ministry roles, including Minister of Music, Youth Minister, and Youth Pastor at New Life Temple of Deliverance, where he faithfully poured into lives and helped shape the next generation. Driven by a heart for outreach and a vision to impact lives beyond the four walls of the church, he founded The House of Refuge Outreach Ministries in 2020 — a ministry dedicated to bringing healing, restoration, hope, and refuge to those in need. As God continued to enlarge his territory, he was appointed Pastor of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church on August 29, 2021, where he now leads with passion, integrity, and the heart of a shepherd. His dedication to both church and community is evident as he continues to serve as a beacon of light, empowering people to grow in faith and walk in purpose. On January 18, 2026, Pastor Walker was elevated to the office of Bishop-Elect — a testament to God’s favor, his faithfulness, and the divine call upon his life. As Scripture declares, “This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.” A diligent student of the Word, Bishop-Elect Walker has studied at By His Word Bible Institute and Triangle Bible Institute, and he holds an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies from Bethlehem Christian University, equipping him to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Above all, he is a devoted husband to his wife, Donshea, and a loving father to their seven children. He leads his family with the same conviction, compassion, and care that he demonstrates in ministry. Bishop-Elect Jeremy D. Walker, Sr. continues to walk boldly in his God-given assignment — preaching with power, leading with love, and serving with a heart fully surrendered to God. He stands firmly by his motto: “Leading with Love, Living in Grace, and Walking Together in Unity.” Always Refuge. Always Jesus. And if you spend any time around him, you will surely hear him say with joy and conviction: “I love y’all, and guess what? There’s nothing you can do about it!” |

Shawnika Madison is a devoted wife and a mother of five adult children. She was born and raised in Orange, VA. She became a member of Emmanuel Christian Center in 2000, under the leadership of Bishop Michael V. Jackson, Sr., and has been a dedicated member for over 25 years. Shawnika began her journey as a doorkeeper, then as a Deaconess; later, God called her a Minister, and now she fulfills the call of an Evangelist.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Bethlehem Christian University and recently completed her certificate in Christian Counseling with Victorious Living Bible Institute. Shawnika is committed to serving her church, family, and community. She is passionate about her faith and loves sharing the word of God, guiding the youth as both a youth leader and Sunday School Teacher. Her favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, perfectly reflects her faith and vision: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." |
